The next Board Meeting is on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 at Copeland Middle School, commencing at 6:00 PM going immediately into Executive Session for personnel, legal and student  matters, followed at 7:00 PM by the voting meeting. The Rockaway Township Board of Education will hold public  interviews for a vacant Board Member position at this meeting commencing at 7:00 PM. Also at this meeting there will be  a budget presentation by the Technology and Special Education Departments. The Board encourages all residents to attend both of these extremely informative activities/presentations.

The Rockaway Township Board of Education at its regular meeting on Wednesday , January 18, 2012, voted on a Resolution to change the budget and school elections.  As a cost-saving measure to taxpayers, the April election will be moved to the general election in November.  If a budget is presented with a proposed tax levy that does not exceed the two percent tax levy cap, there will be no public vote for its approval.  The Board will continue to present the Budget to the community at a meeting in March that will be advertised for maximum public attendance.
